Beyond my classroom and studio work, I’ve dedicated a substantial portion of my academic career to service in various capacities, including local, institutional, and broader design communities. I view this work not as supplementary, but as essential to establishing more resilient, equitable, and future-ready institutions.
My professional service includes roles on editorial boards and design award juries, where I’ve had the privilege of recognizing and supporting emerging talent and shaping conversations in the field. At the university level, I’ve contributed to strategic initiatives such as RIT’s AI Task Force, DEI-focused faculty committees, and systems that improve how faculty track and share their scholarly work. I’ve also contributed to symposia and served as a panelist on topics that intersect emerging technology and design pedagogy.
Within my college and department, I regularly collaborate on curriculum development, faculty training, and student-led initiatives, supporting a culture of experimentation, inclusion, and mentorship. Whether advising student conferences or facilitating workshops for peers, this service reflects my belief that design education is most impactful when it’s responsive, interdisciplinary, and community-driven.
