Hello there. My name is Juan Noguera, and I’m a designer, educator and maker.
My academic career has been dedicated to the advancement of Industrial Design education through innovative teaching methods that connect students with industry and with emerging technologies.
My professional work and research is wide-ranging, from consumer products, toys and musical instruments, to machines and robots, assistive technologies and social innovation initiatives. It has been recognized in numerous publications and received awards and recognitions, including my recognition as one of MIT Technology Review’s 35 Innovators under 35 in 2017, and a Vilcek Award for Creative Promise in Design in 2024.
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Industrial Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
